Smart Voter Official Statement for Dan Kahane

Candidate for
County Supervisor; Sonoma County; Supervisorial District 5

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

I am seeking this office because I love Sonoma County and I am qualified. I want to work for you and with you toward a future in which economic vitality, environmental health, and social well-being are understood as a single, interdependent system. I have expertise in and a deep commitment to practicing fiscal responsibility and effective government through strategic coordination at the local, state and federal levels. Together we can integrate sensible environmental stewardship with wise governance.

As a water programs specialist, project manager, educator, father, musician, farmer and English/Spanish speaker, I reflect the character of West County. If you choose me to work for you, I will be more than a vote on the Board of Supervisors--I will be a strong, well-informed voice for our district's progressive ideals.

The business sector and the environment are critically interdependent. We should continue Sonoma County's national leadership in environmental protection by providing incentives and rewards to green businesses, developing efficient and reliable transportation systems, and exploring creative uses of recycled water. We must also ensure that our roads are in good repair and that our firefighters and sheriffs have the support they require. Working together, we can do more.
