Smart Voter Official Statement for Maddy Hirshfield

Candidate for
County Supervisor; Sonoma County; Supervisorial District 5

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

Sonoma County has been my home for 24 years, and there's no place I'd rather be. Like many of us in the 5th District, I believe we can make our county even better. And the place to start is locally.

I've stood on the frontlines with working families seeking economic security. I'm fighting for universal single-payer healthcare + the only way to cover everyone fairly. I've fought to protect and preserve our open space and watersheds. I've led local efforts to guarantee equal civil rights.

My priorities: healthcare for all; land use that puts the environment first; more reliance on renewable energy + reduce greenhouse gas emissions; smarter transportation planning + rail and bike paths; protect farmland + support farm workers; affordable housing and services for the homeless; equality for all.

My campaign theme is "Acting Locally for a Healthy Future" because I believe county policies should better reflect our district's progressive values.

Endorsements: Congressman Mike Thompson, John Burton, Wesley Chesbro, Senators Sheila Kuehl, Carole Migden, Assemblyman Mark Leno, Assemblywoman Patty Berg, Councilman Sam Pierce, Anne Magnie, Jim Leddy, Jill Ravitch, Sonoma County Young Democrats, Carpenters Union, Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund.

I will serve you tirelessly. I'd be honored to have your vote.
