Smart Voter Official Statement for Valerie K. Brown

Candidate for
County Supervisor; Sonoma County; Supervisorial District 1

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

It has been my pleasure to represent you on the Board of Supervisors. Working together, we have made real changes to protect our quality of life from Santa Rosa to Schellville.

We established the first Groundwater Study in Sonoma County and made sure all stakeholders were part of the process every step of the way. We established the Redevelopment Advisory Commission for the Springs Area in Sonoma Valley. We supported Senior Services at Vintage House and Meals on Wheels. We fought mobile home park operators from forcing homeowners into unwanted conversions and having unfair costs passed on to them.

In addition, we have implemented new ideas and protected our quality of life. We kept the Indian casino out of the Sonoma Valley Baylands, supported Measure F to protect our open space, and we have had strong voices fighting crime, drugs and gangs.

At the same time, I attended Harvard's JFK School of Government and County Leadership Institute for leadership training in county government. I learned additional ways to represent you, as well as new tools and techniques to help serve you.

My office has always been accessible and responsive. I appreciate your support and ask for your vote.
