San Mateo County needs a judge who is willing to dedicate himself to Family Law. Traditionally, newly appointed Judges have been assigned to Family Law for two-year rotations, often with little or no prior family law experience. Because of the short rotation period, lengthy learning curve, and the complexity of Family Law issues, litigants have had to endure lengthy delays, large calendars, and inconsistent rulings. (As an example, it can take up to three months for a parent to get into court to get visitation with his child)"

Additionally, the current system of falls below the minimum Family Law Court standards adopted by the Judicial Council in 2007. These include a minimum judicial assignment of three years, prior experience in Family Law, and a desire to be the Family Law Judge. San Mateo County can't afford to be below the minimum standards. For a Court that prides itself as being one of the best in the state, this is not acceptable.

Parents shouldn't have to wait three months to see their children. We need to decrease the delays by making the issues of child custody and visitation a priority for the Court, and giving family law the necessary resources to protect children and increase the resources available so

I have the skill, experience and dedication essential to the Family Law Judge in this County. It is time to stop the revolving door in Family Law. I am qualified for any judicial assignment, but more importantly I am qualified and desire to serve as this Court's Family Law Judge for my entire tenure as a Superior Court Judge.
