Our past civic leadership has engaged in using tax funds to pay for their private attorneys. Aditionally, our past city council members have used closed door meeting to pass undesirable and possibly illegal actions.
I think that our civic leaders should be above reproach in the operation of their positions. I don't believe that any action of an elected leader is invisible. I do not support the use of public funds for attorneys hired by elected officials. Transparency is my goal for the next San Diego City Council. Every decision that is made by the San Diego City Council is public domain. It is my opinion that there are many challenges that the next City Council faces; corruption should not be one of them.
If I am elected, I will refuse to attend any and all closed door meetings. I will have an open door policy, if any of my constituents has a question, they can visit me at my council office during working hours. I will also provide my home telephone number to all of my constitiuents via the San Diego City Council website. Any and all San Diegans are encouraged to call me at home if they have a comment/question about anything.
