I believe in conducting the city business fairly and equitably in a balanced way without undue influence from any group. Decisions must be cost-effective for the betterment of all residents and the city. I have dealt with the people of diverse community in a humanitarian and compassionate way as a mentor and university professor. I believe that governments shall be frugal in expending tax monies as individual families are. All wastes and overspending shall be eliminated. I believe in the efficient delivery of city services without any red tape and bureaucratic harassment. Besides essential services, the city should undertake only those services which it is able to deliver effectively and beneficially. I believe in the involvement of neighborhood associations and concerned citizens in the decision-making process. I want San Jose Schools to deliver the best quality education to our kids, who are the future of our nation. I think that San Jose should work on improving its image and make this city a tourist destination. Streets and roads should be maintained in good condition. I believe in Mayor's Green Vision. I believe in resource conservation and sustainability. I believe in goodness of mankind and decency. I believe in ethical and professional practices. I want San Jose to be clean and free of gangs and crime. I believe in open government and free press.
