A Leader in Your Community:

Rose Herrera, is a San Jose Native and proud mother of David Herrera, Principal of Cesar Chavez Middle School in East Palo Alto, CA. A graduate of Overfelt High School, Rose Herrera completed her education obtaining both her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Santa Clara University following her tour of service in the United States Air Force.

Rose Herrera has a unique breadth of experience having demonstrated leadership ability in business and community service.

Community Service:

Rose Herrera has been effectively involved in the Evergreen community to create positive results for all Evergreen residents.

As Founder of Involved Evergreen, Rose Herrera formed the organization with the purpose of bringing the Evergreen community together in support of the Evergreen Village Square as a viable place for residents to meet, shop, and share a sense of community. Involved Evergreen's immediate focus is to improve the viability and success of the Evergreen Village Square through effective advocacy of a new grocery story.

Since forming in 2007 under Rose Herrera's leadership, Involved Evergreen has successfully brought a farmers market to Evergreen Village Square and has formed the first Evergreen Village Square Business Owners Association.

Rose Herrera is also a certified trainer for family support services at the Sunrise Assisted Living Community in Evergreen where she volunteers from time to time.

Founder of Involved Evergreen Volunteer at Sunrise Senior Assisted Living Community Delinquency Prevention Commission California Association of Human Rights Organizations Symphony San Jose, Board of Directors Founder of Norwood Creek Elementary School PTA

Private Sector Experience:

As founder and CEO of Cinnamon Software, Rose Herrera oversaw the growth and development of this Silicon Valley software manufacturing company for 10 years. Cinnamon Software achieved $10 million in annual sales volume with a workforce of 150 employees. Rose Herrera has also held positions in world side software sales and consulting services for other high-tech companies. Currently Rose Herrera serves as a consultant to a Silicon Valley start-up company specializing in developing products utilizing wireless area broadband.

Public Service:

Rose Herrera's public sector experience includes a position with County Human Relations Commission under Jim McEntee focusing on youth programs. Rose Herrera focused on at-risk Hispanic youth, specifically dealing with gang intervention and prevention. Rose Herrera also organized community task forces as part of the Si Se Puede Project.

Rose Herrera honorably served our country in the United States Air Force, Security and Intelligence Service from 1972 to 1975. While in the Air Force Rose Herrera was assigned to a select group within the Air Force, as a Race Relations Education Instructor providing instruction and counseling on racial prejudice and stereotypes as part of a required training program for all Military personnel.
