By John I. Sterling

Candidate for County Board of Supervisors; Santa Barbara County; Supervisorial District 4

This information is provided by the candidate
Protect the individuality of our communities, while ensuring a voice and equal representation in the county.
I believe the Orcutt Community Plan needs to be fully understood by everyone in Orcutt. I plan to facilitate that through a series of community forums and town hall meetings. A lot of work went into that plan, and I have heard many complaints about the numerous exceptions that have been made to it. Orcutt needs to be represented and given a loud voice in determining its own destiny, and protected from being nibbled away at, or gobbled up, by neighboring jurisdictions.

Orcutt, having no independent city council, needs to be able to depend upon the district supervisor to actively represent and fight for its needs at the county board of supervisors.

I believe the people in Guadalupe should get all the help they can possibly get in their economic development quests that they have identified, and that the 4th District Supervisor should be a very visible and active presence in assisting them in obtaining their goals.
