Support sensible growth that is conducive with each community's needs and desires

Every community in the 3rd district is unique with its own set of priorities and interests, which is why I support the Community Plan Process as an effective tool that respects the diversities of the different areas we live in. This process allows people to play an integral role and help build a consensus of what each community wants and needs while providing a road map for supporting sensible growth.

I am in favor of real and authentic affordable housing that is supported by the community and neighbors that it is proposed for. I am against any high density housing projects in the unincorporated rural areas of the county and opposed to the disingenuous State Housing Mandate, it is riddled with fraud and corruption and I will fight to abolish it. I will not allow the destruction of our natural habitats and agricultural lands for the purpose of thoughtless and reckless development or other self-serving special interests.

I oppose the expansion of gambling in our community

Gambling has become one of the fastest growing addictions in the country. The negative effects of Las Vegas Style Gambling Casinos in community neighborhoods cannot be disputed and is only compounded by the potential for those Casinos to grow. I believe that there is more than enough legal gambling in the 3rd District and that there is no need to expand it any further.

I will protect and preserve the pristine Gaviota Coast, the gem of South County

There is no place in the whole world like the Gaviota Coast. Driving on Hwy 101 and looking out west over the open shore line is a scene we will never grow tired of + every time is like the first time and it reminds us how lucky we are and what a privilege it is to still have this picturesque view.
