In 1996, the voters of the third supervisorial district elected Ken to his current publicly elected seat as a member of the Orange County Board of Education. During his first campaign for public office, he defeated a twenty-year incumbent on a "back to education basics" theme. Ken also represents the communities of Orange, Santa Ana and Garden Grove as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Central County Regional Occupational Program. He serves his constituents as a conservative advocate promoting the family, public safety and safe schools, high academic standards, educational accountability, parental rights, and a back to basics" and traditional approach to education.

Ken is a native of Orange County born in Garden Grove in 1958. He is a board-certified family physician practicing primary care medicine and surgery in the central Orange County communities. He is on staff at St. Joseph Hospital, Western Medical Center of Santa Ana, and family practice department chairman at Children's Hospital of Orange County. He has been in private medical practice since 1986.

Dr. Williams has been an invited guest speaker at numerous town hall meetings promoting the policy that indivudals rather than government should dictate healthcare decisions. During debates on socialized medicine he publicly opposed government control of our nation's medical healthcare system. He has also appeared on radio and television programs defending the deinition of marriage between a man and woman. He strongly beleives in and promotes scientifically based sex education programs that decrease sexually transmitted diseases and teenage pregnancies that stress abstinence education.

In public safety, Ken is a sworn law enforcement officer as a reserve member of the Orange County Sheriffs Department. He serves Orange County as a patrol deputy in the city of San Clemente and in numerous other law enforcement capacities. Ken's passion for public safety and protection of our children and families from violence is his primary public policy effort as an elected member from his community.

Dr. Williams attended primary schools in Costa Mesa, and graduated from Estancia High School in 1976. He completed his premedical studies and obtained his B.A. degree from the University of California, Irvine in 1980. In 1984, he earned his medical degree from the Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, and completed his postgraduate medical and residency training at Pacific Hospital in Long Beach.

On a personal note, Dr. Williams strongly believes in our nation's founding father's vision of our country being the "city on the shining hill." He consistently promotes our nation's Constitution, the spirit of the Declaration of Independence, and the reliable standards of Judeo-Christian values as the reason for our nation's greatness. He is a product of a middle class, traditional, and conservative family whose parents immigrated to the United States from Canada and England. He is a father of three sons and most importantly a devoted husband of 27 years to his wife, Janet. Dr. Williams and are residents of the city of Villa Park and attend worship at Salem Lutheran Church in Orange.
