Questions & Answers

1. Please provide a brief list of your qualifications in bullet format, using an asterisk (*) to represent a bullet. (No more than 25 words for this section.)

2. Why are you running for Superior Court judge? (No more than 75 words total for questions 2 and 3.)

I believe judges define our criminal justice system, by how well they know the law, and how fairly they apply it. I want to ensure that justice is served in every case, and that everyone who comes before me will be treated with dignity and respect.

3. What experiences and personal qualities best equip you to serve as judge? (No more than 75 words total for questions 2 and 3.)

I am compassionate and fair. As a prosecutor, I have experience evaluating the sufficiency of the evidence, taking pleas, making settlement offers, researching legal issues, and ensuring the defendants' constitutional rights are protected. I know the law well, and possess strong research skills. I have spent the past 4 1/2 years practicing complex homicide litigation, which involves consistently addressing the most serious legal and constitutional issues in the system. This practice, coupled with my former appellate and trial experience, places me in the unique position to handle all issues easily and competently, and to transition smoothly into any judicial assignment.
