Four years ago, I promised to hold government accountable to taxpayers, reduce traffic congestion, and improve public safety for Contra Costa County citizens. I have kept my promises.

I took immediate action to balance an out of control budget, implemented prudent spending practices, more than doubled our emergency reserves and improved our county's bond rating ++ without raising taxes.

I led the effort to install a barrier on Vasco Road ++ reducing fatalities to zero. To reduce traffic congestion, I've made widening of Highway 4, the Caldecott Tunnel and the completion of the Bypass a top priority.

As a co-author of the county's Urban Limit Line, I am protecting open spaces and controlling sprawl to maintain our high quality of life.

Public safety is vital for our community's protection. In difficult budget times, diligent efforts closed the budget gap between unfilled positions and law enforcement serving our communities.

I'm proud to be endorsed by Contra Costa District Attorney Bob Kochly former Assemblywoman Lynne Leach, the Contra Costa Deputy Sheriffs Association, over 30 local city council representatives, and many community leaders.

Contra Costa County has always been my home. I'm a native of Walnut Creek and live in Discovery Bay with my husband David, who is a firefighter, and our daughter Mariah.

I will continue to put the public's interest first, to deliver results.

With your support, I will continue to put the needs of our community first and provide strong, independent, bi-partisan leadership to protect and improve our quality of life.
