Position Papers
Safer Neighborhoods
As violence becomes more widespread, the entire city is now on alert and demands action. Violence from shootings - whether at a corner on Market and 14th or in a piano studio on Trestle Glen - frighten us all. These are issues I plan to tackle, first and foremost.
Smart Growth
Through creation of market rate housing in our redevelopment areas, we will fast track desperately needed affordable housing. As a life long advocate for the homeless, no one believes more than I that the way out of homelessness and poverty is with a roof over one's head, a bed to lie one's head on, and a job to dream about going to in the morning to provide food for one's belly and sustenance for one's soul.
Food and Economic Security
I will immediately work on drawing together all of the dynamic resources and food pioneers the Bay Area is blessed with to come up with a Food Access Action Plan within the first 6 months of office.
