Biographical Highlights

· 4th Generation Native of Hayward, born at Hayward Hospital on "A" Street, a few blocks from the present City Hall. He and wife Andrea have been married for the past 19 years.

· Received Masters in Public Administration from Cal State Hayward;

· Vietnam Era Veteran, serving in the United States Navy from July 1965 to July 1971. Honorably Discharged.

· Retired Budget Analyst for the County of Alameda. Prior to the County, worked for the Alameda County Training & Employment Board/Associated Community Action Program (ACTEB/ACAP). Positions included Manager of the Caterpillar Tractor Dislocated Workers Program, Contracts Officer and Fiscal Compliance Monitor.

· Civic Involvement
-Present Chairman, Hayward Planning Commission.
-Past Chairman, Citizens Advisory Commission (CAC).
-Past Vice President, Woodland Estates Homeowners Association.
-Past President, DeAnza Park Committee.
-Past Member, Portuguese Centennial Park Committee.

· Proud Member of the following Unions
-Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 535, 20+ years.
-Operating Engineers, Local 3,Union affiliate for the Alameda County Management Employees Association (ACMEA).
-Office and Technical Employees, Local 29, while working his way through college at Kaiser Foundation Hospital.
-Cannery Workers Union, at Hunts Cannery during summers after graduation from High School.
