Over the last eight years I have been proud to represent the people of District 4 by opening Youth Uprising to enrich the lives of youth 13-24, opening a state of the art homeless facility for families and those suffering with HIV/AIDS at East Oakland Community Project, championing Measure A for essential countywide healthcare funding, spearheading a countywide Violence Prevention Blueprint, enacting a responsible Alcohol Education Ordinance, and numerous other accomplishments for my diverse district.

I look forward to my next term working to improve older adult quality of life, implement a strategic vision and plan for the urban unincorporated communities, open a new Castro Valley library, complete several major transportation and public works projects, develop an Emancipation Village for foster youth, and maintain a fiscally sound County budget.
