LIFE

Perhaps the most outrageous evil in our society this day is the wanton disregard for the protection of the life of the innocent. Today one is no longer assured the protection from the civil government of life. If you are inside the womb, deemed "unworthy" of life due to a disability (like Terry Schiavo of Florida), or otherwise considered "useless" because of your age, you are in danger of having your life snuffed out. Our forefathers laid out for us in clear and precise terms the nature of our rights. The Declaration of Independence sets forth the truth that rights do not originate from man but from the God of the Bible, the Creator of all. One of the basic rights is the right to life. God the Creator is the giver and taker of life so that for man to take that prerogative unto himself is a crime which should be punished by the civil government . . . not supported.

ECONOMIC RESPONSIBILITY

As our people clamor for more and more benefits, our leaders are more than happy to acquiesce. As a result, we have an increase in welfare, subsidies, foreign aid, inefficient government projects, etc. In the name of compassion our civil government steals more and more from the productive labor of its citizens. What is not covered by money directly stolen in exorbitant taxes is made up for by the little mentioned inflation tax. To cover budget shortfall, our leaders have the ability to "print" money through the Federal Reserve system. The inflation of the currency effectively steals purchasing power from the citizenry. Government spending needs to return to its proper limits as outlined in the Constitution. Which brings us to our next point.

RETURN TO LIMITED CONSTITUTIONAL GOVERNMENT

Elected officials are not placed in office to vote their consciences. They are elected to uphold and defend the God-granted rights of the electorate, which rights are delineated in the Constitution. We are given parents to care for us when we are young and children to care for us when we are old. Elected representatives are not parents who need to take care of their children from cradle to grave, but are elected to protect the innocent and punish the criminal. That we as a people would see once again the proper place and role of civil government and bind down our leaders with the chains of the Constitution is a critical priority.
