First and foremost I am a husband and father. My two children currently attend Ardsley Schools. I am the founder and president of Holographic Studios in Manhattan where I am involved in the cutting edge laser nanotechnology of holography. Some of the awards I have received for my work include the Golden OMA from POPAI and an ECHO Quality Award. http://www.holographer.com/JasonSapan.htm For four years I taught at the School of Visual Arts. I have also been a guest lecturer at the Art Institute of Chicago, Ohio State University, University of Vermont, and NYU, among others. I presently continue to give private classes at my studios. In the early 70s I was a recording engineer at Record Plant Recording Studios in midtown Manhattan where I worked with John Lennon, Ray Charles, Dizzy Gilespie, Tammy Wynette, and Eugene Ormandy and the Philadelphia Philharmonic. I also recorded many live concerts including the Newport Jazz Festival. I have also worked as an accoustical engineer for Kenward S. Oliphant Associates, ACI, and Frank Hubach Associates. In this line of work I have been brought into computer chip making facilities to analyze vibration criteria in the zero to thirty Hertz range for submicron clean room production. Some of the firms that I have consulted at include IBM, AMD, Motorola, and Bell Laboratories. For the past nine years I have been elected as a leader of the Citizens Budget Committee where I have learned exactly how every dollar is spent in our school district. I have now worked with three Superintendents as well as getting feedback from our next Superintendent. This has given me a broad overview of how different Superintendents envision their role in our district as well as a better understanding of what to expect in the future. I serve on the Board of Trustees of WCT where I am also on their School Board. I have been involved with Midnight Run in Dobbs Ferry for several years and have participated in many Breakfast Runs where we serve food to the homeless in New York City. I am a member of the Tarrytown Boat and Yacht Club. I've owned sailboats for over twenty years and have completed three courses with the United States Power Squadron. My boat uses the wind as power and the sun through solar batteries for electricity. I am a founding member of the Woodlands Environmental Task Force and recently was involved in putting on an Environmental Fair. One of the most outstanding exhibits we had there was the hydrogen powered fuel cell Chevrolet. The GM automotive fuel cell facility is located in Ardsley. |
