Statement of T.N. HO, Candidate for
Member, Cupertino City Council, Short Term

Occupation: Governing Board Member, Santa Clara County Board of Education

Education and Qualifications:
It has been an honor to serve our community as a County Board of Education Member for over 12 years. In the past several years, Cupertino officials have increased residential construction even to the degree of rezoning parcels in order to balance declines in sales tax revenues. This shortsightedness has caused undesirable impacts to the quality of our life, including overcrowding of our schools and severe traffic congestion. Cupertino needs a comprehensive, long-range plan with resident and business input. I pledge, as your city councilmember, to:

Form a coalition with both elementary and high school districts to study the housing impact on student enrollment, and to propose a balanced solution. Create an outdoor, pedestrian-only shopping center. Attract more people to Cupertino to enjoy a shopping, dining, and recreation complex. Work with senior citizens to increase the utilization of our Senior Center, and decrease any usage fees. Oppose expansion of the Hanson Quarry operation.

We must keep our city a desirable place to raise our children and to enjoy retirement. We need to make city officials accountable to our citizenry. Please vote for T. N. Ho for honesty and openness in city government. Visit http://www.tnho.com for further information.
