Questions & Answers

1. What are your qualifications for office? (50 word limit)

Eleven years in practice as a Municipal Court Prosecutor, Municipal Law Director and in the areas of Civil Rights, Employment Discrimination and General Civil Litigation. Active service on numerous community boards and organizations. Thousands of trials, bench and jury. Thirty-five years of varied life experiences.

2. What plans do you have to address your top three priorities? (100 word limit)

I have and will continue to carefully listen and rule upon each case as the facts, law and circumstances of each case dictate. I will also continue to follow the proposition that the Court should treat ALL respectfully and equally regardless of status, race or affilation.

I have and will continue to explain the reasons for the decisions that I make, issuing written decisions on Motions filed by attorneys and making sure that unrepresented parties truly understand what is occurring at each stage of the process.

I will remain an independent thinker driven by what I believe is fair.

3. What specific changes would you like to see in the administration of justice in Hamilton County? (150 word limit)

I would like the jury pools to be expanded by looking to drivers license registration, electric bills and other like sources of finding individuals to serve.

I would like the Courts to stagger times that cases are scheduled in order to prevent the waiting of parties, witnesses and judges that many complain about. It would also likely cut down on the long lines outside of the courthouse each morning.

I would like for warrants for minor misdemeanors and fourth degree misdemeanors that are five years old or older to be withdrawn and dismissed considering the likeliehood that those arrested on those warrants will be incaracerated for some period of time awaiting resolution, and considering the cases will likely be dismissed due to the age of the case and the general inability of the State to proceed on the matter.
