Promote fiscal responsibility

By Debbie Bellman

Candidate for Member Council; City of Wyoming

This information is provided by the candidate
I will promote fiscal responsibility and attempt to reduce the City tax burden on our citizens.
I believe we must practice fiscal responsibility. Everyone I know is concerned about taxes, and we all need to be diligent regarding our finances. After working as a Systems Engineer at IBM for 15 years and then being down-sized and thus unemployed for awhile (with three kids ages 4 and under), I know exactly what it's like to watch every penny and appreciate every dollar earned. While we must continue our excellent city services, I believe it is important to eliminate any wasteful spending in Wyoming and to allocate our limited resources effectively. I want to ensure that our City tax is not in competition with the school tax, as our schools are vital to the attractiveness of our community.
