1. What are your qualifications for office? (50 word limit)

Answer from Linda Keith Radtke:

Completing sixteenth year on board, tenth as president; former high school math teacher in district; former economics instructor at University of Cincinnati; graduate of St. Bernard-Elmwood Place High School; working with over sixty schools in Southwest Ohio to improve academic achievement, college and career readiness among all students.

2. What plans do you have to address your top three priorities? (100 word limit)

Answer from Linda Keith Radtke:

Initially, the board must meet with representatives of the two communities to formulate a strategic plan to insure financial stability and a quality educational system for years to come. The district needs to work with its career technical partner and with area community colleges to provide college credit and internships for high school students. Preschoolers must have opportunities to become Kindergarten-ready, literacy and numeracy activities must be implemented K-12, and a community service program should be established to engage students in improving their communities. Finally, the board must seek new revenue sources to relieve property and business owners.

3. What is your position on amending the Ohio Constitution with regard to the funding of public schools? (150 word limit)?

Answer from Linda Keith Radtke:

While I am not taking a position on the amendment, I would caution all citizens that there is no silver bullet to solve this problem. To assume that a single action will address the equity and adequacy of funding public education would be naïve at best.
