A Community Education Center For All Residents

By Huijun Z. Ring

Candidate for City Council member; City of Foster City

This information is provided by the candidate
A Community Education Center, with a public high school at its core, will provide opportunities and education options for all residents.
As a mother of two children who attend Foster City public schools, a member of Foster City Education Advisory Committee and co-founder of Foster City High School Foundation, I believe that a good educational foundation is critical for all children. I support establishing a Community Education Center with a public charter high school at its core.

A public high school would be good for our community and for our families. A neighborhood school, accessible without the commute over Highway 101, attended with their grade school friends, should be an option for Foster City children. This Community Education Center will serve residents of all ages, from young children to seniors. Additionally, the increase in property taxes that this benefit to the community would surely entail would help in the funding of a variety of city functions, and thus contribute to the long term stability of our town.
