It's been a privilege to serve the city for the past two years. As a Burlingame Councilman I serve on a number of subcommittees that address issues integral to the success of our town.

They include: The Peninsula Congestion Relief Alliance--which manages Burlingame's shuttle program as well as others within San Mateo County. During my tenure on the committee ridership on our shuttles has steadily increased.

The Grand Boulevard Task Force--an organization dedicated to finding common elements along El Camino Real that will make that historic byway more of a destination that visitors and residents alike can enjoy. A major focus of the task force is to reduce traffic congestion through smart development initiatives.

CETS-Coalition to Enhance Transit Service--Convenience and connectivity are the keys to success for our public transit system. I, along with many city council members along The Peninsula, have been working closely with officials from Caltrain and Samtrans to improve train service locally and to increase the opportunity to make it easier for riders to adopt public transit.

The Airport Community Roundtable--For the past 25 years The Roundtable has addressed the noise issues emanating from nearby San Francisco International Airport. The Roundtable continues to build coalitions with the airlines, the airport and the neighborhood in order to mitigate concerns over noise. I also serve on a subcommittee of The Roundtable called The Airport Roundtable Marketing Committee.

Burlingame Website Exploration Committee--I believe that by utilizing the web more effectively, more city services can be done electronically. This will, in a small way, save automobile trips to city hall as well as saving paper processing. Burlingame is on the edge of Silicon Valley. We must become a leader in many areas. Our website is now a tool that better serves the public as well as promote and attract visitors and business interests.

Past Council Liaison, Burlingame Chamber of Commerce--Simply put, a strong business community makes Burlingame a better place to live, visit and work. As a liaison to this committee worked with business leaders to enhance the role of the Chamber and helped foster a better working relationship between the Chamber and The City.

President, Burlingame Historical Society In this role, I have negotiated a lease agreement with The Peninsula Joint Powers Board/Caltrain that will allow the Burlingame Train Station to be used as a history museum rent-free. In this role I have also advocated for adaptive reuse of older buildings when possible, preservation when appropriate and salvage whenever the former two have been exhausted. It is this experience that has made me keenly aware of the need to balance development with Burlingame's unique heritage.

Past Vice President/current member, Burlingame Lions Club The Burlingame Lions Club has given back to the community in a myriad of ways since 1929. This year I helped organize the club's most successful fundraiser ever. A classic car show was held and raised over $15,000 in its inaugural year. Additionally, I have participated in many of the group's charitable endeavors. I am spearheading the rehabilitation of Lions Club Hall--this will be an opportunity for the community to come together and rebuild one of the most cherished and recognized buildings in Burlingame. To date, the back deck has been rebuilt and the exterior has been restored and repainted--all with volunteer labor and a major proportion of donated materials+ saving the club and the community thousands of dollars.

Past Chair, Burlingame Traffic, Safety and Parking Commission In this role I have helped to develop Burlingame's first ever bicycle and pedestrian master plan. This comprehensive plan is the first step in giving real alternatives to automobile travel. It is, in my opinion, a leap forward to making Burlingame a true bike friendly city and a step in the right direction in making the city a more sustainable one.

Advertising/Marketing Creative Director I have worked for advertising agencies and for various clients over the course of my 19 -year career. They include positions as Vice President, Group Creative Director for Foote, Cone and Belding, Associate Creative Director for Resource Marketing and BBDO and Director of Creative Services for Hyperion Solutions Inc. The combination of creative problem solving and project management skills makes me uniquely qualified to address the issues that face Burlingame today and in the future.

Bachelor of Fine Arts+Advertising Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, CA

Bachelor of Arts+Communications California State University, Fullerton, CA

Graduate+San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Academy

I have lived in Burlingame with my wife Constance for 14 years. We have a dog named Auggie.

As a councilmember, I will respect the past and embrace the future.
