I have been honored to serve the Redwood City community, residents and businesses as your City Council representative for the past 2 ½ years. As I embark on my re-election campaign, I once again need your support to continue a common sense approach to growth, protecting our environment and building partnerships in education for our community. I would like to take this opportunity to share with you my vision for the next four years.

I want to continue building on the success we have achieved in downtown by encouraging in-fill development of business and housing, ensuring a vibrant future for the core of our community. By working together, government and business can create the affordable new housing our community needs.

Having served as a board member of the Redwood City School District for five years, I have capitalized on that knowledge and expertise on the City Council to build bridges between the schools and city. As an educator for the past 33 years, I have the experience and vision to continue leading our city's successful partnerships in education through the expansion of after-school programs and Preschool for All, and strengthening our public schools.

My work on Council committees and with non-profit organizations has been extensive, including service on the Dumbarton Extension, the Chamber of Commerce Leadership Committee, the Immigrant Advisory Committee of the San Mateo County Historical Museum, Chair of the Sequoia Awards Board, Secretary of Shelter Network, and the Advisory Committee of the Service League.

I also have also served on the Bay Area Water Forum, Redwood City 2020 and the California League of Cities Commission on Transportation, Communication and Public Works, all agencies interested in the future welfare of the environment. This experience has prepared me to become a stronger advocate for protecting our environment. I am committed to ensuring Redwood City's quality of life and promoting sustainability for future generations.

I have been privileged to serve you on the City Council. We have many accomplishments to be proud of, yet we still have work to do to continue improving our city. Join me in making Redwood City a great community to live and work for all of us and future generations.

As someone who has been a friend and key ally in the past, I hope I can count on your continued support. Together, we can work to create a vibrant Redwood City. Winning an election is a team effort. I hope to have your vote on November 6.
