Council Member; City of Palo Alto

Dear Neighbor,

My name is Sid Espinosa, and I would like to serve as your representative on the Palo Alto City Council.

I'm proud to live in such a vibrant city. Palo Alto offers services envied by communities across the Bay Area. However, we also face numerous challenges, both economic and environmental. Our infrastructure is deteriorating. We are losing revenue-generating businesses at a dangerous rate. We continue to struggle over the appropriate amount and location of new housing. We could do more to be environmentally conscious.

Fortunately, our city has a long history of coming together to resolve community problems. I believe that our history and the resources of this city give us the strength to tackle our current challenges. With a record of proven leadership and innovative solutions, I can add a strong and thoughtful voice to our city's decision-making on pressing city issues:

• Economic Development + If we want to continue providing robust city services, we must work aggressively to increase city revenues and control costs.

• Environmental Leadership -- Palo Alto can become a hub of green-tech innovation. We must also expand participation in the City's environmental programs and encourage green building.

• Infrastructure Investment -- We have not built a city facility in 30 years, and it shows. Comprehensive planning is needed to address the extensive backlog of city infrastructure problems.
