1. What experience or training do you have which would help the District meet its goals?

Answer from William A. "Bill" Bosworth:

I have been on the Cupertino Sanitary Board since April 2001. I'm a past president of the Board and have also been on the Board's finance committee since April 2001. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Planning and Management from U.C. Davis. I am an accountant and have a great deal of experience with businesses, financial records and reporting, budgets, expenditures, and financial planning. I have served on four other Board of Directors. I was also in the restaurant business for eight years and restaurants are one of primary problem areas for the District due to fats, oils, and grease. I have also been the District's representative on the California Sanitation Risk Management Authority since April 2001 which handles the District's insurance programs.

2. What is your evaluation of the financial condition of the District?

Answer from William A. "Bill" Bosworth:

The District is in excellent financial condition. I have served on the Board's finance committee since I joined the Board in April 2001. It's is important to note, that while our District is in excellent financial health, that status has not come at the expense of maintenance or the updating of our infrastructure. It should also be noted, that the District's sound financial condition has been maintained while also supporting major advancements and renovation upgrades by the San Jose/Santa Clara Water Pollution Control Plant, to which we are a contributory agency.

3. In what ways would you collaborate with other governmental entities to achieve the District's goal?

Answer from William A. "Bill" Bosworth:

The District works in close collaboration the the cities of San Jose and Santa Clara with their water pollution control plant. I have taken a tour of their plant and also inspected some of the adjoining infrastructure. I also attend most meetings of the Special District's Association of Santa Clara County. Our District works with the Santa Clara Water District, open space districts, and other sanitary districts through this organization. I support all of our associations through that organization. I have also attended almost every conference of the California Association of Sanitary Agencies which holds three conferences per year. That organization works for the health and welfare of all Californians.
