Answer from Mark R. Santoro:

I have extensive experience managing large projects in my profession. I would bring that experience to try to help the city plan for its future and to solve the problems of today.

Answer from Albert C. Chu:

I will bring a conservative voice and leadership to the Cupertino City Council and will work with various levels of government in order to keep the Cupertino safe and to grow in a manageable fashion. My passion will be to keep Cupertino schools operating at the highest quality possible.

2. What concerns are of particular importance to the city and how would you address them?

Answer from Albert C. Chu:

My concerns surround the way that City Council has been conducted in the past. There is a disconnect between the City Council and the residents with special interests dominating some of the Council's decisions. I'll work to listen to all sides (residents, business leaders, building developers) so as to form my own opinions on issues that can impact Cupertino significantly.

Answer from Raj Vasant Abhyanker:

Urbanization of our city - see position paper Vallco/Cupertino square vitalization Hansen Cement expansion - see position paper R1H zoning - see position on Blog

Answer from Mark R. Santoro:

Open government - I will push for better notification of the citizens of what is going on in the city. The state of the city, budgets, plans, etc. should be made clear to it's people.

Traffic Congestion around our Schools - I will push the city to relieve traffic around our schools.

For the People - I will work for the citizens of our city to try to make it a better place for all.

3. How would you balance the needs of the City as a whole with groups' interests?

Answer from Albert C. Chu:

I am and always will be an Independent Conservative with no special agendas. My campaign is not run with donations from special interest groups and that will give me the advantages to form my own decisions. I pride myself to operate in a honest and truthful manner at all time as a resident or as a City Council member.

Answer from Mark R. Santoro:

I believe that elected officials should represent the people, not special interest groups. Since the people elected you, you should be working for them.

Answer from Raj Vasant Abhyanker:

I would look to what is best for the city as a whole.
