If elected I would use the time to work on the passions that drive me to seek public office. The Public School system has demolished the Industrial Arts that used to be so important to stimulate children to look to their future. Music, woodshop, and other trade stimuli are all gone. What do our children do when the monies are not there for a college education? I feel that it drives children into looking in other directions and often times it gets them in trouble. Keeping children busy is the key and I would propose that we create a Trade School for Teens and perhaps anyone else that might benefit in the Trade Industries. I would like to think that we might use the National Guard Armory since it is so close to the two schools and the Boys Club on the East Side of Town. This would give our children a chance to remain in our community and make a living wage. It would help to give them hope for their future instead of not knowing what to do. I would like to see more housing such as the El Carrillo Apts for the Homeless being developed so that our homeless have some hope to move out of the shelter systems and into their own dwellings. I know that the key to resolving the homeless issue is to house the homeless and I firmly believe that we can lessen the homeless problem by doing so. Even if we have to look towards alternative and creative means to do so. I would also like to stimulate the community into participating more into coming up with solutions to the Global Warming Problems we are facing in the near future. Global Warming is real, and we must all be willing to give up something to help our planet get through its cycle. Perhaps we can give up our gas hogs. Perhaps we can all put solar panels on our roofs. Whatever we can do it will help. If we don't our generations to come might have to face another ice age. Is that what we want for them? My political philosophy is to just listen to my constituents and learn to respect each and every one that comes to talk to me about their issues. Do what I can to help and challenge them to move in the right direction with the contacts I may be able to provide them with. Thank You
