Other Important Issues

By Lester Silverman

Candidate for Governing Board Member; Manhattan Beach Unified School District

Les will not be myopic in his approach to issues
In addition to the issue, school debt, which I've already discussed, a few key issues I plan to work on over the next several years include: larger science labs, new computers, and the arts initiative for the schools. For example, MBMS needs new computer labs.

There are many issues that confront our schools and change over time. They include, campus safety, substance abuse, need for increased college counselors, healthier school cafeteria food, and increased student awareness of how other schools in our county and beyond need support to improve education for example, our schools can participate in programs like "Big Sunday" where students go to under privileged districts and help clean up and improve the school campuses.
