My family taught me that service to country and community is an obligation and a blessing. Over the past thirty years I have attempted to meet this obligation through service to the youth of our Whittier community.

I believe that education passes on civilization to future generations. Over the years I have been working with my neighbors to help our youth grow through education into responsible adults.

Our community has a great committment to the growth of our youth by its support of our schools. I have been deeply involved in our schools as a teacher, School board member and neighbor.

Having been a member of the Board of Trustees in the South Whittier School District, I bring with me 18 years of board member experience. I have expertise in school finance, budget, curriculum, personnel relations, and involvement of our community with our district.

I believe that one of the most important relationships in education is the relationship between the student, teacher and parent. To support this relationship my top priorities as a Trustee will be to:

  • Increase the focus on the student, teacher and parent relationship.
  • Increase the articulation with our elementary school districts.
  • Continue to support the culture of academic and artistic excellence in our district.
  • Listen to the needs of our community and be an advocate for our students.
  • Support a balanced budget that focuses on the needs of our students.

If I am elected to the Board of Trustees of the Whittier Union High School District, I will support continued and stable progress for our students. Together we can continue the journey in academic and artistic excellence.

I ask for your support and vote on November 6th.
