Joseph Probst is a professor of Speech Communication at Pasadena City College. He is a past president of the Faculty Senate.

He has been married to his wife Jo Anne for thirty seven years. They have two children, Lynette and Alan. Jo Anne is a second grade teacher in the Bonita Unified School District. Both Lynette and Alan are graduates of Charter Oak High School. Lynette has her Ph.D. in psychology and is the mother of Joe's two grandchildren, Jessica and Amy. Alan has his M.A. in education.

Joe is now serving as Vice-president of the Governing Board in the Charter Oak Unified School District. He has served as both vice-president and president four times. Joe now serves as a president of the Los Angeles County School Trustees Association (LACSTA.) He is also a member of the Delegate Assembly of the California School Boards Association (CSBA.)

Joe has served on PTA boards at two Charter Oak schools. He has served as member and chair of a school site council.

Joe volunteered and was nominated by a Superior Court Judge to serve on the Los Angeles County Grand Jury, he used his background in education to serve as a member of the Governmental and Schools Committee. He was also and officer of the Grand Jury holding the position of Parliamentarian. He is a past director of the Los Angeles County Grand Juriors' Association.

He is a member of the Covina Masonic Lodge, an organization that fosters public education. He served as a member and secretary to the Temple Board for several years. Joe has also served as president of the Covian Happy Hirams.
