Serving you the last eight years on the Rio Hondo College Board of Trustees has been a passionate and rewarding endeavor.

My past student experience at Rio Hondo College has provided a unique perspective that has benefited our College and community.

In addition, I believe that my professional experience as an Educational Policy Advisor to the California State Assembly, United States House of Representatives, local, state and national elected officials and governmental entities has enhanced our own policy initiatives for the benefit the whole community.

I'm proud to report on accomplishments that I have authored and advocated for:

• Go Rio! Free regional public transportation for Rio Hondo College students. Developed as a result of my student rider experience and environmental concern.

• Veteran's Priority Registration. Developed in response to the number of our local veterans returning from war.

• South Whittier College Satellite Center. A commitment I made to bring Rio Hondo College "down from the hill" and better respond to your needs.

• A New College Campus. Building and renovating a new college campus for future generation.

• A New College President. Hired a new President to lead, unite and move Rio Hondo College forward.

• College for High Schoolers Students take free college courses receiving dual credit and boost students to higher education.
