Desires for our Students
"I am committed to an exemplary education for our students and will work hard to maintain and improve our precious school district. During my past nine years as an elementary school teacher, I believe that my education, professional experience, leadership skills, and passion for teaching has made me the strongest candidate, and I need your help to win.

I am dedicated to supporting the needs of our students and ensuring that our students receive a complete and quality education. I will also give teachers the support and resources needed to perform their job effectively. Many times when our school budgets are reduced, our classrooms are first to be affected. My goal is to ensure that budget cuts are kept as far away from the classrooms as possible. I want to make sure that our schools get the well-deserved modernization that was supposed to happen with the last approved bond. Some of the schools have had little, or no upgrades. This is unacceptable. Wedgeworth Elementary still has their original portables. It is not the best environment for maximum learning. Our students should be coming first. As a School Board Member and educator, I will look beyond the traditional framework and work proactively towards making positive and innovative changes for our students.

Additionally, education must be a partnership between the schools, teachers, parents, and community. I will encourage more parental involvement and better communication between the home and school. I will work towards better communications and bridging the gap among our cities, schools, parents and teachers. As a teacher, I personally know the positive impact parental and community involvement have on the education of a child. If we work together as one, the rewards are tremendous. Together, we can close the achievement gap and showcase Hacienda-La Puente Unified School District as a model district in California."
