My career has spanned more than thirty-three years of public service in and around Whittier and has included positions of fiscal responsibility with many agencies including the former Rio Hondo Area Action Council, as well as the cities of Pico Rivera, Santa Fe Springs and Norwalk. The past twenty-six years I have been employed with the Los Angeles County Office of Education, where my responsibilities have ranged from providing internal analysis in matters of school administration, legislation and business, to the assisting of local school districts and administrators in areas including budgeting, finance, and compliance with state and federal requirements.

In my role as a school district Business Services Consultant for LACOE, I have been directly responsible for reviewing and monitoring the annual budgets, attendance reports, financial reports, audit reports, collective bargaining proposals, enrollment projections and other matters that could impact the financial status for all school districts in the greater Whittier and outlying areas, including the Los Angeles Unified School District, which annually adopts a budget of approximately $9 billion.

I have acted as an intermediary between school districts and the California Department of Education and assisted many financially troubled school districts in regaining their fiscal stability. Until the onset of this campaign, I was the LA County Office's Business Services Consultant for the East Whittier City School District. Perhaps, you may be familiar with my name from the frequent letters that are sent to the Board regarding the District's finances.
