I propose to end the "no-bid contracts" system and eliminate creating jobs for political-patronage.If I am the only Democrat on County Council, it will be difficult to get new laws passed to stop the County from wasting millions of dollars. And if I am the only Democrat, I will insist on holding the Counil meetings at night and having them televised for all to see. I will not vote on any non-critical spending bills and I will invite county employees to offer ways to cut waste within the county with incentive bonuses. If there are two Democrats on Council out of five Council seats, we will be able to make a motion & second it but it won't pass if the other 3 are republicans. So, I will do my best to try to convince one of the three to do the right thing for the people of Delco and not for the good of the Party. If three Democrats get elected in November, then nothing but good will start to flow from County Council. The goal will be an efficient govertment that will operate on a tight budget for the good of the people and not the politicians. And finally with three Democrats on Council, we will improve the reputation of Delaware County where it will no longer be considered the County of cronyism and corruption. |
