Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Jay Shapiro

Candidate for
Member, Board of Education; Chappaqua Central School District

This information is provided by the candidate

My philosophy about serving on the school board is that politics aren't relevant. What is relevant is that I have the background and skills to serve as an effective school board member.
Much of my professional life has been dedicated to public service. Serving on the school board is a logical progression of that work. I believe that the spirit of volunteerism is critical to our community. I applaud those who make the commitment to serve the Chappaqua community; I take great satisfaction in being one of them.
My children have benefited from their Chappaqua education and it is truly nice to give something back for all we've received. I've worked with our children in the classroom and on the fields-serving on the school board is another way to dedicate myself to them.
When I first ran for the Chappaqua School Board, I did so believing that I have the skills to be an effective school board member. My experiences over the last three years have confirmed that belief.
