It seems as though the Council treats the city's finances like a monopoly game rather than as if it were their own money.The city's recent history is full of examples of fiscal irresponsibility. From the city hall debacle that will ultimarely cost over $1 billion, to lawsuits against other government agencies that will cost millions, to the last minute funding of questionable and low priority projects, the Council just does not get it. We must reserve city funding to only those projects of the highest priority and make sure that we spend money cost effectively. Specifically |
