About Bryan Do:

My family escaped from communist Vietnam and came to San Jose for freedom and opportunity. I attended public schools in San Jose from Dorsa Elementary to San Jose State University. Like many immigrant children, I found adjusting to a new culture and language to be a challenge. But through hard work I was awarded membership to the International Economics Honor Society before turning 18. I first got to know the neighborhood by delivering newspapers with my brother and cousin early each morning before school. That same work ethic allowed me to not only self finance my college education, but to be named to the Board of Directors of a multi-million dollar corporation, Spartan Shops Inc., before the age of 20. Since then I have been a successful Project Management consultant for numerous start-up and Fortune 500 companies. I am currently working with the locally owned Selection Realty, Inc. I am most proud of my wife of three years, Judit Van Caenegem, who works side by side with me to serve our community. I have volunteered at the Alexian Brother Hospital, various homeless shelters; and provided free translation services for groups such as the Catholic Conscience, the Dharma Mediation Center Buddhist Temple and the Emergency Preparedness program that Congressman Mike Honda, and Councilwoman Madison Nguyen had hosted. Most recently, I was recognized by the California State Assembly for my past community service efforts. Like many of the hundreds of residents of District 4 that I have talked to during this campaign, I am concerned about lobbyist influence. Most candidates talk about which politicians and special interest groups support them. Not me. I'll focus on how I will work with you to strengthen our Community.

Bryan Do's Commitment to Public Service includes:

  • Library Commissioner, City of San José
  • Member of Community Advisory Panels:
-Fire Department, City of San José
-Police Department, City of San José
-First 5 California (promote education for children)
  • Emergency Winter Coat Drive for the Children of Hurricane Katrina
  • Volunteers at homeless shelters throughout Santa Clara County
