Arlene Staich Age: 64 Occupation: Governing Board Member

As a former physics and math teacher and current member of Redondo Beach School Board, my primary goal is to help students achieve educational excellence. During my term on the Board, I have helped to:

Increase the variety of learning opportunities to appropriately prepare students for college or vocational/technical careers.

Enhance staff development efforts to provide the latest knowledge and skills to better serve students.

Integrate more technology into the curriculum to create more involved student learning opportunities.

Build working and monetary partnerships between the school district, community, parents, administrators, teachers and support staff to better serve the students.

Secure additional educational funding through leases and Redondo Beach Education Foundation grants.

Ensure that schools are safe and modernized . Exercise prudent fiscal management of District funds.

Our students need community backing to help them succeed. I represent their interests as a Board member of the Southern California Regional Occupation Center, a member of District policy committee, a Board member of Redondo Beach Education Foundation and a member of Leadership Redondo Class of 2005.

If re-elected on March 6, I will continue to help provided Redondo Beach students with an education based on excellence that helps them excel in a global economy.
