Progress should not be confused with greed.History is filled with events where the rights of one group is superseded by another group. Too many times it has been done by "forced imposition". The force has been in the form of politics, religion, a majority suppressing a minority (or visa versa), money supplanting compassion, better weaponry, etc. More times than not "progress" and " rights" were used as rationalization. At times rules must be established to protect all people not just those with wealth and/or power. I am in favor of passing ordinances that will be conducive to all property owners- big as well as small. |
