SAFER

-Led the effort to secure for an additional 1,000 LAPD officers over the next 5 years and prioritized gang prevention efforts throughout the District to offer genuine alternatives to gang life for our youth.

-Championed the successful Kid Watch program along with LAPD to deploy officers to create safer passage zones around schools in District 14 because our students have the right to be safe when walking to and from school.

CLEANER

-Launched first ever Saturday bulky items clean-up campaign throughout District 14 that has averaged 167 tons of material collected per month.

-Partnered with residents to beautify neighborhoods throughout the District to jumpstart long-delayed capital projects including the first phase of planned facade improvements along Huntington Drive.

GREENER

-Created an environmentally sustainable "green corridor" by introducing recreational improvements and native ecology to the densely populated Boyle Heights community.

-Introduced the Northeast Interim Control Ordinance regulating hillside development in Mt. Olympus, Paradise Hill, Rose Hill, El Sereno and Monterey Hills.
