Greg Hill is a longtime civic, business, and political activist in the South Bay. Greg was first elected to the Redondo Beach City Council in 1993 where he served until 1997. In 1997 Greg ran, and won his election as the Mayor of Redondo Beach. He was re-elected in 2001 and served with distinction until 2005.

Greg began his career working for the Southern California Gas Company for 13 years, where he held the positions of Energy Systems Engineer, Environmental Affairs Manager, District Manager, and Economic Development Manager.

After serving at the Southern California Gas Company, Greg moved into the financial arena and held positions with Smith Barney as a financial consultant, Union Bank of California as a Vice President in their Private Banking division, and City National Bank as Vice President of Trusts and Investments. Greg later founded the firm of Hill & Associates LLC. His company is engaged in providing insurance and financial services, venture capital investment and governmental affairs consulting.

Greg has been involved with numerous commissions, boards, and associations. He served with distinction on the Board Director's of the California Independent Cities Association, as well as the Chairman of the American Red Cross, South Bay chapter. In addition, Greg has been an active member of the Redondo Beach Chambers of Commerce, Torrance Chamber of Commerce, Redondo Beach Community Round Table, Young Executives of America, Redondo Beach Rotary Club, and the South Bay Workforce Investment Board.

Greg is married to wife Sherry and recently added a new member to their family with the birth of their daughter Morgan on April 12, 2006.

Greg is the nominee for City Treasurer, where he is running on a platform of fiscal responsibility and accountability. He is a graduate of the University of California-Irvine and continued his education at the University of Southern California, where he received his Masters Degree.
