Having served as Mayor, Mayor Pro Tempore and Councilmember, Sal Guarriello has been a proud advocate on behalf all of our residents. With more then 20 years dedicated to public service, he has fought to:

- Create new senior, low-income and workforce housing.
- Preserve our rent stabilization ordinance.
- Enhance services for those in need.
- Increase public parking and ease traffic congestion
- Improve safety in our community.

Since being elected to the council, Guarriello has increased affordable housing opportunities, preserved Section 8 housing and fought to protect our renters. However, with home prices still on the rise, the need for housing continues to grow. Much more remains to be done to ensure that our low-income residents have a place to call home. Mayor Pro Tempore Guarriello will continue to work with the other members of the City Council and the community over the next four years to continue to tackle this critical issue.

Prior to joining the council, Guarriello was active in the Coalition for Economic Survival, co-founded the West Hollywood Community Housing Corporation and served on its Board. In addition, he served as Councilmember Abbe Land's appointee to the city's Rent Stabilization Commission, giving him a firsthand understanding of our need for additional housing, to preserve rent stabilization and protect tenants from harassment and unfair evictions.

Guarriello has worked to maintain our economic vitality while guarding against runaway development. He formed the Eastside Redevelopment Agency to revitalize the area east of Fairfax and played a key role in the City's takeover and revitalization of Santa Monica Boulevard. Today, the Boulevard has never looked better and business is thriving.

But the work is not done! Our humble city has grown by leaps and bounds, and today we face new challenges. We cannot hide from our future by simply ignoring the challenges that come with growth! We must instead take this opportunity to promote environmentally-friendly buildings, create more affordable housing and encourage walking communities by blending housing with retail. This is not only proven to ease traffic congestion and reduce nighttime traffic in residential neighborhoods, but it also encourages pedestrian friendly neighborhoods and would increase available public parking.

Mayor Pro Tempore Sal Guarriello has the experience to work through the challenges that lie ahead. Please VOTE for SAL GUARRIELLO, on TUESDAY MARCH 6TH!
