Mayor; City of Pasadena

Four years ago, I committed to strengthen Pasadena through quality neighborhoods, a growing economy, better transit service, improved public schools, and great arts organizations.

I also promised courtesy and inclusiveness at City Hall.

Today, while we face many challenges, there's a lot going right:

The local economy is strong with more than 100,000
jobs and low unemployment. We've strengthened
neighborhoods while attracting technology-based
enterprises.

The City's budget is balanced, with emphasis on parks
and traffic control. We have invested in City assets,
like City Hall and our municipal utility.

Improved cooperation between City and School District
is engaging the community to support public schools.

The City has committed to environmental
responsibility, through re-cycling, "green" building
policies, low-emission vehicles, and reduction of
emissions that contribute to global warming.

No individual can take credit for all the good things happening. But, as Mayor, I've worked hard to build a great city. And I remain eager to confront the major issues facing Pasadena, including:

The amount and appearance of new development,
and attendant traffic congestion

The needs of young people

Environmental responsibility

I ask the voter's support on March 6.
