Hamilton County, OH November 7, 2006 Election
Smart Voter

Judicial Independence

By James T. "Jim" O'Reilly

Candidate for Judge; Ohio State Court of Appeals; District 1; 6 Year Term Starting 2/10/07

This information is provided by the candidate
Voters should seek to elect judges unaffected by appointments or similar means of addressing party allegiance.
As my website explains at oreillyforjudge.org, I have not been appointed to a judgeship. I have never been given a judgeship "election" without any opposition. I have not spent years inside the Hamilton County prosecution and judicial systems as an employee of those systems. I believe that a fresh and well prepared view of our county's judicial system will be beneficial to our county's diverse citizens and will enhance the fairness and justice of our legal system. I pledge to remain independent, honest and fair to all who come before my court. I recognize that some voters feel more comfortable with the system as it has been for decades in this county. I encourage all other voters to thoughtfully consider the record explained on my website. I hold my students and myself to high standards for hard work, sound legal reasoning and attention to true justice for all. With your vote I will meet and exceed your expectations for a judge of the appeals court.
