1. Identify and discuss what your approach will be to the most important issue(s) facing your office.

Answer from Steven H. Kern:

Protect tenants, pass and extend ETPA. Sane planning serving residents' wants and needs. Protect and promote affordable housing. Protect planning process with appropriate moratorium. Visionary planning for revitalized downtown.

Answer from Anthony O. Parise:

I would like to get the Village back on track. The last 4 years the Village management goals have failed the taxpayers.

Answer from Catherine Borgia:

Ossining's begun a new Renaissance. Economic revitalization, service upgrades, new legal housing at every level, waterfront development that accesses the Hudson, increased parkland, and beautification are creating a bright future.

Answer from Marlene Cheatham:

Continue to promote affordable housing, keep tax increases low, preserve and enlarge our existing park system, and complete our Comprehensive Plan.

Answer from Maria V. Gagliardi:

End runaway upscale development until Comprehensive Master Plan is in place (moratorium). Encourage affordable housing (workforce housing) development. Return government to people (open government). Protect Ossining's environment and infrastructure.

Responses to questions asked of each candidate are reproduced as submitted to the League.  Candidates' answers were limited to 30 words or less and are presented as submitted.

The order of the candidates is random and changes daily. Candidates who did not respond are not listed on this page.
