Shall the annual contribution of the City of Peekskill for the operating budget of The Field Library be increased by Thirty-five Thousand ($35,000.00) Dollars to the sum of Five Hundred and Seventy-five Thousand ($575,000.00) Dollars annually.

Summary Prepared by The Field Library Board of Trustees:
Dear Voter,

The Field Library is requesting your support for a $35,000 increase in the 2007 operating budget of the library. This total increase of $35,000 is necessary to fund the following: mandated increases in state retirement and health insurance costs; a 3% cost of living raise to all library personnel across the board; and benefit costs ($10,000) for a full-time reference librarian also working with teens and young adults. The Field Library proposition averages out to a little more than $1.50 per Peekskill resident. This increase of $35,000 will help to maintain the library's quality services and staff.
