1. Public education is financed through property taxes and state funds. What other means of raising revenue would you support?*

Answer from Michael A.L. Balboni:

Waste, fraud and abuse must be eradicated in all levels of government, including in our school districts and through Medicaid fraud. We need to more effectively use the state dollars that are already available and ensure that those freed up funds are dedicated to the education of our children who are the future of New York State.

2. Legislative districts have been determined on a partisan basis. Would you support establishing an independent commission as a more open and ethical way to create the districts? Please explain.*

Answer from Michael A.L. Balboni:

The current system allows for numerous court challenges and provides checks and balances. The state court system is in place to resolve disputes. The open process includes a public access policy that encourages full participation, including a series of public hearings held statewide.
