1. What are the three major issues you would address immediately if elected?*

Answer from Gerard R. Gershonowitz:

Election reform, so that more people can participate as candidates; eminent domain, government shouldn't take a person's home away for developers, and legal equality for all legal New Yorkers.

Answer from Richard L. Brodsky:

Education, health care, privacy.

2. What is your opinion regarding the formation of an independent redistricting commission?*

Answer from Richard L. Brodsky:

I carry the constitutional amendment to do so.

Answer from Gerard R. Gershonowitz:

Similar to what Arizona did in 2000, we too can set up an independent redistricting commission. It should be bi-partisan so that no one party is favored.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?*

Answer from Richard L. Brodsky:

My record and familiarity with the communities I represent.

Answer from Gerard R. Gershonowitz:

I believe I can bring fresh ideas to change the New York Assembly. I also believe the state legislature should be more transparent to the public and more accountable to its constituents.
