Council Member; City of Oxnard

First,The most important role for any type of governing body is to protect its citizens against criminal acts. I believe in a strong Public Safety policy. I believe in a Zero Tolerance policy against any and all criminal acts. Adequate funding should be provided to all Public Safety activities, including fire, and police to meet crime head on.

Second, the most important role of a governing body is to provide a safe, clean and environmentally sound environment. Funding should be increased to create "Green Zones" whereby all citizens can go to relax, play, and excercise. Every community needs to have adequate public parks to enhance citizen's quality of life.

Third, local economic initiatives geared to increase economic expansion, should be pursued aggressively. Local economic expansion policies increases our local tax base, and thus allows area-wide benefits. However, economic expansion and grouth should be planned along with a sound and comprehensive program of infrastructure initiatives in order to maintain and repair our streets, roads to better serve the increase population, small business, and tourism.
